PROGRAM NOTE

The piece is written in memory of my father and was composed at the time of his passing.  It is in three movements.  The first movement depicts impromptu trips growing up in an RV family.  The second movement refers to the busyness of an accountant during tax season.  The last movement is titled Yizkor (remembrance in Hebrew) and features the mourning voice of the trombone, my first instrument.

I.  Wild Goose Chase

II.  The Fifth Seaaso

III.  Yizkor

First performed in 1991 by the Arizona Contemporary Ensemble, Brian S. Wilson, conductor. Winner of fellowship at the Composer’s Conference, Duquesne University, 1991.
