PROGRAM NOTE

This is an avant garde setting of the famous Avinu Malkaynu melody scored for cantor, clarinet, cello, piano and percussion.  It was first performed during Holocaust Memorial Week, 1985 at New England Conservatory’s Tuesday Night New Music Series, David Chack, cantor, Brian S. Wilson, conductor and music director.  Avinu Malkaynu is Hebrew for “Our Father, Our King”.
