PROGRAM NOTE

The Season is a mixed octet consisting of

flute (doubling on alto flute), clarinet, baritone saxophone,

tuba, percussion, violin, guitar and double bass. 

It is in three movements

I.  Hazy

II.  Hot

III  Humid

It was first performed in 1985 by the New England Conservatory Contemporary Players, Brian S. Wilson, conductor.  The title refers to enjoyable times growing up at the beach in the Boston area.
